Preparation and Characterization of New Wound Dressing Having Film-backed Hydrocolloid/adhesive Laye

  Polyurethane films with hydrocolloid/adhesive layers could be prepared for clear moisture healing.Breathable polyurethane film(with 2000g/m2/24hr) with high moisture permeability was employed as a base for wound dressings.Comparing with initial area of adhesive layer, the area of resulting hydrocolloid/adhesive layer reached 1.3, 2.0 and 90.0 times after 10days for different additions of caboxymethylcellulose, alginate and carbomer(U10).All wound dressings having film-backed hydrocolloid/adhesive layer showed an increase of water uptakes with increasing time.After 2 hour, high water uptakes of wound dressings having film-backed hydrocolloid/adhesive layer were observed in the values of 395, 890 and 880% for different additions of caboxymethylcellulose, alginate and carbomer, respectively.After 114 hour, high water uptakes of wound dressings having film-backed hydrocolloid/adhesive layer were observed in the values of 700, 8380 and 1870% for different additions of caboxymethylcellulose, alginate and carbomer, respectively.Furthermore, new drug carrier system of film-backed hydrocolloid/adhesive layer could be designed and established for wound care managements.
