Graphene, a single-layer of graphite, possesses exceptional mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties.However, how to translate the properties of single graphene sheet to bulk materials of graphene is a great challenge,mainly due to the lack of assembly method.To resolve such a big problem, we synthesized highly soluble graphene oxide and functionalized graphene in large-scale,and discovered their liquid crystal (LC) property, including nematic, lamellar and chiral mesophases.
