Thermoacoustics is an interdisciplinary science which is involved with complicated interaction effect between heat and acoustical wave.Due to natural compression and expansion processes of acoustical wave,thermoacoustic heat engines including thermoacoustic prime movers and refrigerators can be realized without moving mechanical parts or much fewer moving parts compared with conventional energy systems.As a result,the thermoacoustic engines can be highly reliable and low-cost.
