Exposure to acute hypobaric hypoxia(AHH)during ascent to high altitudes(>3,500 m)pose a big challenge for those without adequate adaptation, which is the main cause of acute mountain sickness(AMS).Neuroinflammation has been reported to disrupt the blood brain barrier(BBB)and induce brain edema. The relationship between neuroinflammation and AHH is seldom investigated.
