Elderly population of Taiwan has shown a strong increasing trend.According to government's statistics in Taiwan, 1993 marked the beginning of Taiwan as an "aging society." With 1,490,000 citizens over the age of 65, Taiwan found its population with senior citizens occupying 7.1 percent.By 2025, this percentage is to surpass 20 percent,which would make Taiwan a hyper-aged society.
