Objective:This prospective study compared clinical outcomes of the conventional balanced ultrafiltration and the balanced ultrafiltration plus venous-arterial modified ultrafiltration (MF).Methods:Thirty-six patients under l0kg with congenital heart defects were randomized divided into two groups.C group (n =17) received conventional balanced ultrafiltration during CPB,and MF group received balanced ultrafiltration plus venous-arterial modified ultrafiltration (n =19).Two groups underwent the same surgical repair and use same type of hemoconcentrator (Gambra).
