When dermabrasion became common practice, there was considérable hope that the procedure had potential to correct deep scars of the face.Actually, the same problem is observed with any kind of lasers.Neither mechanical dermabrasion nor laser abrasion can lead to a good cosmetic result alone.A good result can be obtained by scar elevation which consist of a circular incision of each deep scar followed by elevation or by excision of the scar and full thickness graft.Dermabrasion is the final act of the procedure.
