As Fujishima and Honda1 first presented the concept of photo-electrochemical water splitting into H2 and O2 over a TiO2 electrode, photocatalytic hydrogen production from water by semiconductors has attracted considerable interest1-3.To date, a number of semiconductor photocatalysts including sulfides, nitrides, metal/metallic oxides, and others have been investigated1-6.However, further commercial development, as well as large scale manufacture of photocatalysts, is still restricted by their low activity and high cost.
