1) Objective of the research To study the protective effect of taurine on gentamycin-induced ototoxieity in guinea pigs.2) Novelty of the work Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid with multiple actions such as anti-oxidative and membrane stabilizing effects in many tissues.But its effect in the inner ear is not very clear yet.This work was designed to find out if taurine has a protective effect against gentamycin-induced ototoxicity,on which few reports had been published.
