This presentation is one of a series designed to set the scene for the 15th IUFoST Congress that is to be held in Cape Town in South Africa in 2010.The proposed Congress theme of "Food Science Solutions in an Evolving World" will provide an opportunity for delegates to gain not only an update into the broader global issues that face all food scientists and technologists but also an understanding of the unique challenges within the African continent.
