The separation of adjacent rare-earth elements by traditional oil-aqueous two phase solvent extraction is very difficult due to extremely similar physical and chemical properties of those elements in processes.Most of researches focus on thermodynamic aspects to improve the low separation factors between adjacent rare earths.
