Specific HIV-mediated disease such as wasting is decreasing with the introduction of HAART as we are successfully treating the virus.Despite this we are seeing an increase in kidney disease suggesting factors other than viral suppression as the cause.The reason for these increases is likely related to the aging of this population in addition to sveral other factors including hypertension,diabetes,drug induced kidney disease.The discussion will include renal disorders in HIV infected patients,risk factors,and guidelines to management.
