Applying advanced hazard mitigation strategies such as structural control can provide protection against seismic excitations and allow engineers to build safer and more economical structures.Structural control can increase the safety and performance of a traditional design by redistributing and dissipating the energy of the structure. However, the majority of structural models utilized in this research are assumed to be first linear and second fixed-based systems thereby neglecting soil-structure interaction (SSI).Indeed.structures even incorporated with control devices may behave nonlinear when subjected to strong earthquake events.
