  Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) is the most dangerous chemical amongl6 PAHs considered as priority pollutants by the US EPA, and it is frequently sought as an indicator of PAHs contamination.Owing to the low water solubility, the concentration of BaP in water is very low, which prompts booming interest in the continued development of solid-phase extraction materials.It was reported that MgO and octadecyl modified MgO (C18-MgO) exhibited excellent capacity for retention of BaP, on the basis of electron interaction and hydrophobic interaction.In this study, MgO and C18-MgO were employed as SPE sorbents, respectively.
