Citrus canker, caused by Xanthomonas cirri subsp.citri (Xcc), is a devastating bacterial disease threatening citrus industry worldwide.Nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase (NADPH oxidase), encoded by rboh (respiratory burst oxidase homologues), transfers electrons from NADPH to molecular oxygen to generate O2·-, which is the first step in the formation of H2O2 in plant-pathogen interaction system.
