A New Experimental Method to determine Pore Volume Compressibility of tight Sandstones under in-situ

  Pore volume compressibility(PVC),which is common to be determined experimentally,is one of the most important petrophysical parameters.Conventional experiments of PVC are carried out through varying the confining pressure when the pore pressure closes to the atmospheric pressure,which does not agree with those in situ.In order to obtain accurate results about PVC,a new method to determine experimentally PVC in situ has been developed.Then PVC measurements of several tight sandstones in China were performed with Pulse-Decay method and PVC data were got under reservoir pressure.Meanwhile,it is interesting that the experimental data also could be used for calculating the other petrophysical parameters,i.e.,permeability and porosity.
