English teaching plays a very important role in higher education. With the increase of the course proportion, English is not only the learning of language, but also the means of learning professional skills and knowledge. However, some conflicts exist in the traditional English teaching: language learning and discipline content are separated from each other; grammar enhancement and practice are separated from each other; score assessment and practical ability are separated from each other. It is urgent to find a teaching philosophy and method which can not only embody the professional knowledge but also meet the requirements of English language teaching. This paper is based on the relevant researches on the teaching philosophy of CLIL. It analyzes. By taking the bilingual teaching of the major of English for Tourism as an example, it also explores into the organizational form of teaching, teaching content, teaching evaluation, teachers’ training, textbook selection and teaching methods and so on. It is expected to make some innovations and improvements in the bilingual teaching reform of the major of English for Tourism.
