  Based on the Helfrich curvature-elasticity model, a geometric eqaution for equilibrium shapes of membrane vesicles in magnetic fields is derived.The solution of infinitesimal deformation of a spherical vesicle is calculated in general.The solution with constraint of constant vesicle area not only confirms exactly the estimation by Helfrich [Phys.Lett.A43,409(1973)], but also reveals a field-induced-surface-tension effect.
