Objective To investigate the clinical value of dual-source CT in preoperative evaluation of live donors kidney before the kidney transplant.Materials and Methods Forty-two live kidney donor underwent dual-source CT from March 2009 to August 2009.The plain scan, early arterial phase, late arterial phase and excretory phase (360 second in delay) were performed in all participants. All the imaging displayed by two and three-dimensional images by means of MPR, VRT and MIP.The results were compared with the findings of surgery. Results: Kidney stone in 5 patients and renal cyst in 2 patients; the single renal artery of both kidney in 33 patients(78.6%, 33/42), multiple renal arteries in 9 patients(21.4%,9/42); renal arterial stenosis in 1 patient; the dual renal veins of each kidney in 6 cases(14.3%, 6/42), renal vein variants and abnormal communicating branch in 3 patients. The coincidence rate of dual-source CTA and opertation was100%.Conclusion Dual-source CT can play a important role in the evaluation of living renal donor including renal parenchyma, vascularity and urinary tract, and better than Ultrasound, IVP and DSA.
