Sea water temperature and salinity data from Simple Ocean Data Assimilation (SODA) are used to determine the dynamic height difference between east of Luzon Strait and south of Longmu Strait from 1958 to 2007.The results show that a strong pressure gradient (34 cm) exists between Western Pacific and Indian Ocean,with most of the gradient contained at within upper 700 m.
