(1)The adaptive mechanism of homo-and heterosynaptic plasticity plays an important role in learning and memory.Postsynaptic calcium signal is necessary and sufficient to induce long term potentiation(LTP)and long term depression(LTD).Hebbian type or homosynaptic plasticity has already been studied in detail; instead,we investigate the mechanism of how unstimulated spine could generate heterosynaptic plasticity.
