Plant C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factors play crucial roles upon epidemical cell fate decision,root differentiation and environmental stress response.Here,based-on transcriptome analysis in main inflorescence of two elite B.napus cultivars Zhongshuang 11(ZS11)and 73290,one differentially expressed gene,encoding zinc finger protein and showing 78.4% identity on amino acid sequence to that of AtZFP5,was assigned as BnZFP9 and overexpressed in Arabidopsis thaliana Col-0.Contrast to Col-0,BnZFP9 transgenic plants are with brown and curly roots,rare and short root hairs,yellow young leaves,and enriched trichomes on sepal,style and young pod.
