　　A number of recent seminal studies revealed that the somatic mutations in the NADP+-dependent metabolic enzymes, isocitrate dehydrogenase-1 and-2 (IDH1 and IDH2) occurred frequently in diffuse gliomas of World Health Organization (WHO) Grades Ⅱ and Ⅲ of astrocytic and oligodendroglial lineages but rare in primary glioblastoma.
