Magnesium aluminate spinel (MgAl2O4) is regarded as a significant material due to its excellent thermal,mechanical, optical, electrical and chemical properties 1-2.Although various unconventional techniques such as hydrolytic sol-gel, co-precipitation, hydrothermal, thermal decomposition and organic gel-assisted citrate process have been developed for the synthesis of MgAl2O4 spinel powders, the preparation of high quality MgAl2O4 spinel nanopowder via a simple, affordable and versatile route is still the major challenge for the materials scientists 3-5.
