A vapor-cooled HTS current lead of TOKAMAK for nuclear fusion devices basically consists of two sections.First,an upper section of current lead generally is made by Cu material which has high thermal conductivity and low electric resistivity to reduce heat load.Another one is lower section being connected to bottom of upper section.Moreover,2G HTS wires are adhered in this section to reduce volume and weigh against large capacity currents.A structural design for Cu section of current lead is important because thermal stability and cooling efficiency of HTS section is dominant by Cu section structure. Therefore,in this paper, two structural options are conceptually designed by analytical code and numerical simulation program considering electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical issues.
