Randomized controlled trials have confirmed the survival advantage of conventional transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)on HCC patients over best supportive care.Recently, the different embolization materials with a smooth hydrophilic surface and minimal aggregation tendency have been used in clinical studies, which have confirmed that the TACE with microspheres or microparticles have been shown to have advantages in safety and efficiency.
