Heavy metal enters the fly ash through several approaches,including evaporation,surface reaction,nucleation and agglomeration,adsorption.The speciation of heavy metal in fly ash determines its transfer,transformation and environmental risk.Meanwhile,major elements in the fly ash may act as a “carrier” of heavy metal.Speciation of major element may also influence transfer of heavy metal.In this study,BCR sequential extraction and XRF technique were used to characterize the speciation of heavy metal and major elements in the fly ash.
