Esophageal cancer is the sixth leading cause of death from cancer and one of the least studied cancers worldwide.β-catenin/TCF pathway plays important roles in regulating cellular differentiation and proliferation during embryonic development and leads to tumor formation when aberrantly activated.Compelling evidence has indicated a crucial role for signaling by β-catenin/TCF in the tumorigenesis of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas (ESCC), genetic mutations of4PC, β-catenin or Axin are rarely found in ESCC.
