Characterization of the poly(l-lactic acid)/titania nanocomposites by using the sol-gel processing was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized optical microscopy (POM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA) and wide-angle x-ray diffraction (WAXD).The result of DSC analysis confirmed that the crystallization rate increased by adding titanium oxide which can form nuclei to improve the PLA crystallization.
