Toxic effects and health risks of pesticides at sublethal level are important, but how to choose the appropriate model organisms and methods are still very challenging.Honeybee is probably one of the best known of all insects in the world, and the significant decline of their populations in North America and Europe due to colony collapse disorder (CCD).The use of the honeybee as a model organism for human health research, such as aging, is gaining attention mainly because of the unique lifespan between two female castes, queen and the workers, both developing from diploid eggs with identical genetic potential but vastly different longevity.
