We have explored the application of natural dyes extracted from the non-tar-based natural pigments of Gardenia and Monascus in dye-sensitized solar cells[2].DSSCs were prepared using a commercial Dyesol paste deposited on F-doped SnO2 (FTO) glass substrates by doctor blade method. The successive adsorption of Gardenia yellow and Monascus dyes on the TiO2 films were measured using UV spectrophotometry [1].Two simplified kinetic models including a pseudo first-order and pseudo second-order equations were employed to fit the experiment data (Fig.1).In addition, the photovoltaic performance of the photo-electrode prepared in this work was evaluated from the current-voltage measurements.
