童谣是民间口头文学和儿童文学的一种,其翻译长期以来未受到应有的重视。本文通过分析清末何德兰(Isaac Taylor Headland)所编译的《孺子歌图》探讨童谣的语言特色及其英译问题。文章指出语体风格、语言特点、独特句法等对童谣的翻译具有重要影响。 Nursery rhymes are a kind of folk oral literature and children’s literature, whose translation has not received due attention for a long time. This article explores the linguistic features of nursery rhymes and their English translation problems by analyzing “Geisha Songtu” compiled by Isaac Taylor Headland in the late Qing Dynasty. The article points out that stylistic style, language features and unique syntax have an important influence on the translation of nursery rhymes.
