The diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase (DGAT1) is a key microsomal enzyme that catalyzes the final step of the reaction of diacylglycerol and fatty acylcoenzyme A to form triglyceride synthesis.Studies have indicated that single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the DGAT1 were associated with higher milk fat content in dairy cattle.
