Therapeutic management of liver fibrosis remains an unsolved clinical problem.Hepatic accumulation of extracellular matrix(ECM), mainly collagen, is mediated by the production of transforming growth factor-βl (TGF-β1) in stellate cells.NLRCS, the largest member of the NLR protein family, has recently been identified as a critical regulator of immune responses.Novel evidence can identify NLRC5 as an important negative modulator of inflammatory pathways.Herein, we determined whether NLRC5 regulates liver fibrogenesis and examined its mechanism of action by focusing on NF-κB signaling pathway.Our study firstly revealed that NLRC5 was upregulated in human liver fibrotic tissues.
