Design:Retrospective evaluation of 257 cases,which had surgical treatment of unstable spinal fractures since 2003.Objective:A new technique for anterior fusion and stabilization in spinal fractures is described.Summary of background data:The standard techniques for surgical treatment of unstable spinal fractures are anterior or posterior reduction and stabilization with plates or pedicle screws and fusion with bone grafts or vertebral body replacement with titanium cages.There are no reports about the routine use of PEEK cages for stabilization of the anterior column in spinal trauma.
