A total of 24 stranded or bycatch individuals of 7 cetacean species were collected in Taiwan from 2001 to 2011,including Omuras whale(Balaenoptera omurai),Rissos dolphin(Grampus griseus),Dwarf sperm whale(Kogia sima),Frasers dolphin(Lagenodelphis hosei),Pantropical spotted dolphin(Stenella attenuata),Finless porpoise(Neophocaena phocaenoides)and Chinese white dolphin(Sousa chinensis). We provide one more example of using muscular δ13C and δ15N to identify the cetaceans into the oceanic baleen whale, the offshore and the coastal toothed whale groups, coinciding with their taxonomy, feeding habits and geographical distribution.Furthermore, the relationships between renal Cd/hepatic As concentrations and body length/δ15N shows a dietary shift throughout the life stages of Rissos dolphins(n=8).Their adolescents feed on diverse As-high prey species inshore, while the male adults feed on more Cd-high cephalopods, offshore.
