Mathematical calculation of the texture in MR images demonstrates promise to detect subtle changes in tissue structure but is subject to pathological validation.Here we imaged 10 postmortem brain samples with multiple sclerosis and computed the local texture of brain areas with different severity of pathology determined by histological staining.
