The synthesis of hexagonal CuS nanoplates was achieved by making use of the instability of copper-thiosulfate complex to H+ in the presence of CTAB in aqueous solution at low temperature (45 ℃).The obtained products were characterized by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).CTAB played an important role in the formation of hexagonal CuS nanoplates. The photoluminescence of CuS nanoplatesc was also studied.
