Guizhou is the typical karst area where the rocky desertification problem is prominent.The ecological environment there is fragile and vulnerable.Tongjing demonstration area is chosen as the study area.Based on the special feature of its geographical environment and the formation mechanism of the karst rocky desertification,we select 9 indices.According to the “P-S-R” conceptual framework model,we set up assessment model of the karst rocky desertification,define corresponding criteria,and classify the risky situation into 4 grades.Meanwhile we create the coverage data with the aid of remote sensing and geographical information system technology and adopt the space analysis module to assess the risk of the karst rocky desertification and analyze it.According to the result,Tongjing demonstration area has a lower risk as a whole,which indicates the ecological projects have been very effective.
