This paper introduces the authors personal experiences in the treatment of cancer in Taiwan applying an integrated traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine approach.If Western medicine therapy has not intervened or if Western medical therapeutic intervention has already occurred but tumor markers remain elevated or the tumor has enlarged or metastasizes, the TCM pattern type and etiology is identified as great heat pattern along with either exterior wind heat, blood heat, water amassment, exterior-interior triple burner replete heat, Shao Yang heat, or Yang Ming bowel pattern.
