To help prioritize environmental issues, design environmental policies,it is important to have estimates of the health and environmental damages and monetary costs associated with current pollution as well as estimates of the benefits that regulatory interventions would bring. We conduct the surveys on willingness to pay (WTP) for Mortality Risk Reductions in Beijing. The surveys ask adults their willingness to pay (WTP) for small reductions in mortality risks, deriving estimates of the sample mean value of statistical life (VSL) for environmental policies. The paper compares our estimates with those from other regions using the same basic survey instrument and analyzed the Influencing factors of VLS in Beijing.
