Auxin is a crucial phytohomorne in regulating various aspects of plant growth, and AUXIN BINDING PROTIEN1 (ABP1) is proposed as one of the auxin receptors to control fast auxin response at the cell surface.ABP1 is predominately detected within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), but the minority at the cell surface where it is supposed to have a physiologically relevant role in auxin perception is unexplored.In our study, we found a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored SKU5 protein binds ABP1 at ER in an auxin-dependent manner with the assistance of SKS4 (SKU5 similar 4) protein.sku5 and sku5 sks4 mutants, especially SKS-artifical miRNA lines phenocopy ABP1-knockdown lines.
