Terpenoids represent the largest and most diverse class of plant specialized metabolites,with diverse physiological functions during plant development.In the biosynthesis of terpenoids,short-chain isoprenyl diphosphate synthases(SC-IDS) account for the majority biosynthesis of linear isoprenyl pyrophosphates,which are the direct precursors for terpenoids.
