The inhibition of renal sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) has been proposed as a novel therapeutic approach to diabetic treatment.Here, the effect of dapagliflozin, a selective SGLT2 inhibitor, on blood glucose levels and pancreatic B cell function were studied in T1DM mice.The T1DM models (fasting glucose >180mg/dl) were induced by alloxan in ICR mice, and randomly divided into 5 groups: model, metformin, 3 doses (4, 1, 0.25 mg/kg) of dapagliflozin.The blood glucose level was monitored for 48 h after asingle oral administration of dapagliflozin.
