Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) represent a heterogeneous group of cells that expands during cancer and inflammation and has been reported to modulate cytokine production of macrophages, suppresses T-cell response, promotes tumor angiogenesis, tumor cell invasion and metastasis.Additionally, it has been described, that myeloid derived cells accumulate lipid droplets as part of the ectopic fat storage and that these droplet formation modulates their phenotype. However, the mechanisms of recruitment and formation of MDSC are still under investigation.
