Rare earth elements (La, Ce, Y, etc) are important substance and they are used in the preparation of catalyst to improve the stability.Typical examples are as follows: In the conversion of methanol to propylene and of ethanol to propylene, it was found that the modification with Ce enhanced the formation of propylene;In the coking benzene alkylation, La modification improved the stability.In the preparation of PX catalyst, the adding of La improved the thermal stability of catalyst.In this paper, the application of La, Ce, Y in the preparation of catalyst was reviewed in detail.
