Monosomic addition line M14 is an interspecific hybrid crossed between a wild species B.corolliflora Zoss.and a cultivated species B.vulgaris L.genome.Some reports showed that line M14 had exhibited the characteristics of apomixis and stress tolerance(such as drought,high salt and cold),due to the 9th chromosome.Therefore,sugar beet line M14 has been used as a valuable genetic resource for isolating genes from the wild species for improvement in cultivated beet.
