　　In this work,we study the Newton-Lorentz equation and its numerical simulation.Firstly,we analyze the geometric properties of the system.Then,as the system is source free and separable,based on the splitting technique we present the volume-preserving methods which are easy computing and can be proved to have long-term stability.
