New generations of organic-inorganic porous hybrid materials are fabricated by combining covalent bonding with non-covalent or supramolecular interactions.Studies on the molecular levels are performed to understand why certain functional groups or bonds can affect the properties of these porous nanostructures. To this end, hybrid organosilica nanomaterials (HOS) are envisioned to be one of the most prolific subjects of research in the next decade.
