The reliability-based design optimization (RBDO) can provide a cost-effective design between cost and safety considering the uncertainties in structural design.So far, a lot of RBDO strategies have been developed to improve computational efficiency and robustness, such as two level RBDO approaches, mono-level RBDO approaches and decoupled RBDO approaches.Sequential approximation programming (SAP) method is an efficient RBDO approach by sequential linear approximation of reliability index, however, it cant converge to the optimum with large initial points, large target reliability index, highly nonlinear limit state function and highly nonlinear random distribution by the first order Taylor expansion of probabilistic constraints.Single loop approach (SLA) is a robust but less effective algorithm for complex systems.
